Chapter Excellence Program (CEP)
The CEP was developed to foster chapter growth and progress while certifying quality performance through a set guideline of operations and standards. We ensure our sisters maintain high academics while staying engaged in their respective campus and surrounding communities. Our Chapter Excellence Program establishes stability in finances, efficient operations, strong academics and active community involvement.
3C’s: Cooperation, Collaboration, Celebration
We promote cultural awareness through a national initiative called The 3 C’s: Asian-American Collaboration, Cooperation and Celebration. Each semester, our chapters host a three day event that celebrates Asian awareness and our national philanthropy, osteoporosis awareness and prevention. This initiative involves our chapters working with the campus and the community, serving the community and celebrating our culture by sharing it with others.
Several of our chapters have established annual events that engage our communities to come together and celebrate culture and diversity. Through these various programs, our sisters have helped enrich their campus and local communities by providing a welcoming atmosphere for everyone to gather.
Chapter Annual Events
“Taste of Diversity” Culture Show (Georgia)
Biggest event of the Fall semester and the highlight of DPhiL Week. Consists of performances from on-campus, as well as Athens and Atlanta-based, cultural groups. Authentic Asian food is served from different nations and a pageant is held to crown “Mr. Diversity”.
Urban Expressions (DePaul)
Urban Expressions is the first Asian-American showcase at DePaul highlighting people from all walks of life in the urban culture. Since the winter of 2004, the sisters of Delta Phi Lambda at DePaul University have had the utmost pleasure of hosting an awe-inspiring, urban show annually to expose fresh, unique talents of the urban communities. This is the time of year where performers are able to collaborate and offer their own sense of style, perceptions, values, and opinions about the urban culture that they have otherwise not yet been able to express. Popularly known as “Urban Expressions”, this well-noted showcase creates a creative atmosphere where countless young, talented colleagues from all around the Midwest can freely express themselves through step-shows, spoken words, hip-hop dances, vocalists, and any other performance that inspire perspectives of the urban community. This is the time for an outreach and networking of communities to come together and celebrate and express the significance of being urban.
Stroll Competition (Emory)
Theta Chapter’s stroll competition is hosted annually on Emory campus welcoming all Emory Greek organizations as well as the broader Greek community in Atlanta to show off their stroll talent. In the past, we have had a variety of NPHC and MGC organizations competing as well as a showcase featuring off-campus chapters. Through this event, we are able to promote Greek unity and to allow non-Greek members at Emory to have a taste of Greek Life and pride.
Global Gala (Grand Valley State)
An annual signature showcase that features a variety of exciting performances by student organizations to showcase the diversity at Grand Valley State University. Also featured are a variety of other programs such as a cultural fashion show, dancing, a free raffle, free food, and much more!
