Delta Phi Lambda Asian-Interest Sorority, Inc.

NAPA Membership

Delta Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. is an active member of the National APIA Panhellenic Association (NAPA). NAPA, an umbrella organization of ten APIA fraternities and sororities, evolved from the APIA Greek Alliance, which was formed in 2004 to promote civic engagement in the APIA community. Today, NAPA is a non-governing body that promotes and fosters positive interfraternal relations, communications, and the development of all Asian Pacific Islander American Greek Lettered organizations through mutual respect, leadership, integrity, professionalism, academic achievement, cultural awareness, and community involvement. NAPA members have numerous opportunities to exchange stories of triumph and challenges in order to improve their organizational operations and gain a better understanding of the APIA community as a whole.

Delta Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. has been involved with NAPA since its inception and we are very proud to have had our former National Board President, Melissa Montenegro, serve as the first Executive Chair of NAPA. Melissa explains the importance of NAPA below:

"The formation of NAPA is a key landmark in APIA Greek history, and Delta Phi Lambda's active involvement in its early development and beyond is crucial in solidifying our position in American Greek Life. Through NAPA, leaders of our Sisterhood have reached out to and collaborated with various organizations that can help us to achieve our goal of fostering young, empowered female leaders. In my leadership roles of DPhiL National Board President, current National Executive Chair of NAPA, and in my professional life, I have learned that collaborating with others whose ideas may not always be congruent with my own can be a complex, frustrating, and stressful process. However, the rewards of these partnerships far outweigh the obstacles, and the mentality of embracing diverse partnerships will challenge and enrich our sisters for the sake of our entire community."
